Christina Amato, D.M.D
Dr. Christina Amato was born and raised in West Wyoming, PA and attended Wyoming Area School District. At the University of Scranton, Dr. Christina received her bachelor’s degree in Biology, then her Master’s in Health Care Administration while working as an Anatomy & Physiology Graduate Teaching Assistant. Dr. Christina earned her doctor of dental medicine degree from Temple University Kornberg School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia where she received the R. Ralph Bresler, MD Memorial Reward for “exhibiting outstanding empathy for pediatric patients and a desire to put patients first.” Following dental school, Dr. Christina completed residency training in Pediatric Dentistry from Temple University Hospital, Northeastern Campus.
Dr. Christina has been part of the Casey Dental team her entire life. In high school, Dr. Christina was part of a team that developed Casey Dental’s first website! From there, she worked in many roles, including dental assistant, administrative assistant, and transition coordinator for the move to our “new” office! No matter the position, she has always excelled at helping the Casey Dental family and patients feel supported and confident.
In her newest role, Dr. Christina is equipped with the attitude, know-how, and state-of-the-art resources to treat Casey Dental’s youngest patients. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that patients see a dentist by the age of one, or after the first tooth comes in. At Casey Dental, the foundation of our service is education. We focus on helping children and families develop habits to prevent tooth decay, so it’s never too early or too late to schedule a visit!
While our primary goal is prevention, Dr. Christina and the team are prepared to treat the whole range of pediatric dental needs, from simple repairs to complex restorations. To maintain healthy smiles, we see patients every six months for routine check-ups and cleanings. At these visits, we will assess and review home care, as needs evolve with a growing child. Should a need for intervention be discovered, an additional visit may be scheduled to allow proper time for treatment.
After living in Philadelphia for 6 years, Dr. Christina is excited to be back in her hometown to serve the community she grew up in and introduce the next generation to good oral health.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Christina enjoys reading, spending time with her boyfriend, Phil, and their Shetland Sheepdog, Troy, gardening, and going to the beach! Her favorite beach spot is Cape May, New Jersey.
